I just received my first issue of GD USA. I couldn’t be more excited.

My workmate Franco Scaramuzza introduced me to GD USA. Using a camera is 100% of how you see through it. You can have a EOS-1Ds Mark III and still take boring photos. Well, sometimes its about what your camera sees through. Like a pair of blue blockers or an empty bottle of heineken.

I like these two concepts - they are complementary to each other in idea and color - I like that both are ornate and have a sense of cleanliness and elegance. I like the operation of symmetry in both logos - the red logo has an organic shape, a design that can be found at the garden of versailles - and the green logo with an architecturaly structured symbol, a shape found in ceiling structures and supports of buildings, yet shares the color and form of an organic object. I think that these qualities and elements accurately define a Landscape Architect.

So, im currently working on design comps of a logo for a Landscape Architect. These comps are still very much a work in progress but I thought it would be cool to show my work process while the logo is still evolving. Landscape Architects, when designing tend to have a bird’s eye view of their work when scetching things out in CAD. I was browsing through google images to try to get a good view of famous gardens, and was never able to get the complete picture. Then it hit me, google maps!

Well there you go Madalene, I know you follow me on twitter so its only a matter of time before you get back to me with further direction. I love how tumblr spreads your posts to twitter automatically.

I am a fanatic for patterns and motifs. Its very interesting how you can take something natural like a crumpled piece of aluminum foil, or a leather stamped table cloth and create an interesting and engaging pattern. Patterns not only enrich design, but they are also helpful in promoting a desired feeling or targeting a specific audience.

Here are a sample of patterns I have made for fun and for design projects.
